Day 2: Welcome to Sri Lanka
Upon arrival, our representative will welcome you.
Then we will head to Dambulla and on the way visit the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage. This orphanage, nursery, and captive breeding ground for wild Asian elephants is located in the village of Pinnawala and houses the largest herd of captive elephants in the world.
In the afternoon, we will visit the Sigiriya Rock, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This impressive rock fortress is one of Sri Lanka's main attractions. Among its most impressive features are the Water Gardens, the Frescoes of beautiful maidens, the Mirror Wall with ancient graffiti, the Lion's Platform, and the summit, which was completely covered by buildings during Sigiriya's glory days. Built by King Kashyapa (477-495 AD), the "Lion's Rock" is a city of unusual beauty that rises 200 meters from the jungle.

Day 3: Trekking in Hiriwadunna
After breakfast, we will head to Hiriwadunna for a village trekking. This scenic trek begins with a walk along the bund of a Wewa (artificial reservoir). The incredible birdlife, butterflies, and possible crocodile sightings add charm to the trek. Watch the villagers as they go about their morning chores of fishing or washing clothes by the lake's edge. Initially, you wade through a shallow stream and then cross a wider tributary on a farmer's raft to inspect Chena cultivation (slash and burn agriculture). Enjoy the farmer's humble hospitality and pick some fresh vegetables from the plot.

Day 4: From Dambulla to Kandy
After breakfast at the hotel, we will head to Kandy. On the way, we will visit a spice garden. The island has been famous for its spices since medieval times and is one of the main reasons the Europeans conquered the island and the Arabs traded with it from the 14th century. A qualified guide will give a tour of the garden and a presentation of its products.

In the afternoon, we will go on a sightseeing tour of Kandy. We will visit a batik factory, a gem museum, and the famous Temple of the Tooth Relic. This charming exotic city, the capital of the hill country and the last stronghold of the Sinhalese kings, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site that retains an aura of grandeur that time has not affected. Surrounded by hills, with a tranquil lake at its center, it is the site of the renowned temple that houses the Buddha's tooth relic and the Royal Botanical Gardens, home to one of the world's best orchid collections.

Day 5: From Kandy to Nuwara Eliya
After a fresh breakfast, we will head to Nuwara Eliya. On the way, you can see the tea pickers working in the tea plantations. We will visit a tea plantation and you will have the opportunity to walk among the tea plants and talk to the pickers.
Sri Lanka is one of the largest tea exporters in the world, with a tea industry that dominates the central highlands of the island. Introduced to the country by British planter James Taylor in 1867, tea irrevocably changed the topography and even the demographics of the country.

Day 6: From Nuwara Eliya to Yala
After breakfast at the hotel, we will head to Yala. On the way, we will visit the Ravana Waterfall and the Ravana Cave.

In the afternoon, experience the wildlife at Yala National Park in 4x4 jeeps. This national park is a huge area of forests, grasslands, and lagoons bordering the Indian Ocean in southeastern Sri Lanka. It is home to wildlife such as leopards, elephants, and crocodiles, as well as hundreds of bird species. Inland, Sithulpawwa is an ancient Buddhist monastery. Nearby caves contain centuries-old rock paintings. To the southwest, Magul Maha Viharaya also has ancient Buddhist ruins. Both are pilgrimage sites.

Day 7: From Yala to Bentota
After breakfast at the hotel, we will head to Bentota and on the way visit the Galle Fort. This fort, located in Galle Bay on the southwest coast of Sri Lanka, was first built in 1588 by the Portuguese and later extensively fortified by the Dutch during the 17th century. It is a historical, archaeological, and architectural monument that, even after over 432 years, maintains a polished appearance thanks to extensive reconstruction work by the Sri Lanka Archaeological Department.

Day 8: Exploring Bentota
After breakfast, we will visit the turtle hatchery and take a boat safari on the Madu River. The Turtle Hatchery Project on the beach of Bentota is another important attraction. Up to five species of endangered turtles have long frequented a stretch of this undisturbed beach. The turtles are allowed to hatch and thrive in a protected area before being released.
